I am an Events and Advertising Photographer, currently based in Adelaide, South Australia. Before moving to Adelaide in 2018, I worked and trained as Photographer in both Sydney and New Zealand.
WHY I AM HERE
Even though I enjoy developing black and white film in dark rooms and watching other photographers develop their images from a young age, it wasn’t until my late 20’s that I decided I wanted to take up photography professionally.
After completing a degree in Psychology and carving out a successful career working in Not-for-Profit, it seemed that life was too short to spend most of it sitting behind a desk and I wanted a new, creative challenge.
COLLABORATION -AND WHAT SETS ME APART
Like most photographers I love working on my own personal projects and having full creative control. However, I have found the best work is produced when you have a skilled team of both technical and creative people. An important part of that is the vision of the client. With my background in Psychology being able to create a space in which all ideas can be thrown in to the mix while managing to keep a project moving forward is something that sets me part.
WHAT GETS ME UP IN THE MORNING
Like most photographers who get to work in advertising and events, I can’t lie I love getting to work with big brand banks, coffee chains or on television commercials, or photographing celebrities at events. It can be exciting and challenging when you finally get “THE” shot. But also with a background in Not-For-Profit I find a lot of joy in the simple moments, like capturing moments for nursing home events or of people with a beloved pet or family member, which will often bring out the most beautiful images.
